An experienced litigator, Mr. Thompson practices in the areas of civil and commercial litigation with particular emphasis on insurance coverage and contract dispute matters. Since joining Baach Robinson & Lewis PLLC in 1997, Mr. Thompson has successfully litigated or otherwise resolved numerous complex cases and arbitrations in these fields and others. His experience encompasses both jury trials and extensive written and oral advocacy. Noteable successes include winning a pro-insurer judgment that substaintially rejected claims for reimbursement of tens of millions of dollars in worker compensation asbestos liabilities against a major defense contractor, a defense jury verdict that rejected a $250 million fraud and breach of contract claim against a well known telecommunications provider, and negotiating a settlement that provided compensation and other benefits to low-income residents of a South Carolina Sea Island who alleged constructive eviction by the actions of local government officials and developers.
A native Washingtonian whose practice includes a variety of cases in the local courts, Mr. Thompson also regularly appears in federal and state courts throughout the country. He also has been frequently called upon to counsel insurers and other businesses on insurance and contract issues.
